Doppler Ultrasound Blood Flow Measurement System for Assessing Coronary Revascularization
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work describes a Doppler ultrasound system for measuring blood flow. The system is intended to be used for assessing coronary implants and bypass operations. Quantifying the blood flow through these implants/bypasses is an important task to ensure the chirurgical process, thus, reducing both the post-chirurgical and death risks. The system is based on an open architecture that is portable and lowcost, incorporating the advantages of expensive systems with dedicated hardware. It incorporates a pulsed-wave bidirectional Doppler ultrasound flow detector working at 8 MHz. Signal conditioning, detection of direction, signal processing, spectrogram displaying, parameters calculation, and a database handling subsystem complete the system. A graphical user interface is provided for controlling and monitoring the whole system. Doppler signal is processed using both Fourier Transform-based and Parametric Modelbased algorithms, having the facility to incorporate alternative higher-resolution spectral estimation methods. The system is being assessed in coronary revascularization.

Presentation of a Non-invasive Method of Estimating Arterial Stiffness by Modeling Blood Flow and Arterial Wall Based on the Determination of Elastic Module of Arterial Wall
Introduction: Arterial stiffness is an important predictor of cardiovascular risk. Several indices have been introduced to estimate the arterial stiffness based on the changes in the brachial blood pressure. Since the substitution of the blood pressure changes in the central arteries such as carotid with the blood pressure changes in the brachial results in error in the blood...
متن کاملTransthoracic Doppler echocardiography – noninvasive diagnostic window for coronary flow reserve assessment
This review focuses on transthoracic Doppler echocardiography as noninvasive method used to assess coronary flow reserve (CFR) in a wide spectrum of clinical settings. Transthoracic Doppler echocardiography is rapidly gaining appreciation as popular tool to measure CFR both in stenosed and normal epicardial coronary arteries (predominantly in left anterior descending coronary artery). Post-sten...

Background & Objective : Several indices have been introduced to estimate arterial stiffness that based on changes in brachial blood pressure. But because of the error resulted by the substitution of brachial blood pressure instead of the other central arteries, such as carotid, it will be very important to present elastic parameter based on the mechanical models without any emphasis on brach...
متن کاملNon-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis
In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a pre-diagnosis to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...

UNLABELLED Introduction and objectives. Intracoronary Doppler guidewire measurement provides information about the state of the myocardial microcirculation. Our aim was to assess the relationship between the pattern of coronary flow and myocardial viability. Patients and method. The study included 19 patients who had had a recent myocardial infarction (< 1 month), who underwent percutaneous rev...
